Really good prototype! The prose is tight, the MC feels more believable and real in their reactions than most horror game protagonists. The atmosphere was suffocating and I felt honestly nauseous at parts - I feel like this was the intent, so well done! Loved the art style as well: the sketchy style really added to the raw and urgent energy of the scenes.
Some notes: The grammar is usually really good, but I noticed that whenever a sentence in the dialogue trailed off, it would have two periods instead of three (eg, "please don't..") Maybe a stylistic choice? But definitely something I noticed.
I also wasn't able to use a capital letter to start my name. The text box just wouldn't accept it, nothing would appear if I tried to type using shift or caps lock. Probably a bug?
(SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT) There was an issue where if I chose to fight Daniel and then became more obedient after he removed MC's limbs, the game would act as if I'd been "docile" the whole time, notably mentioning the effects of painkillers that I hadn't received.
I really liked that the protagonist fought back HARD. When you get the "bite him" option, I was not expecting to graphically rip a chunk of his mouth away! I think that's good and realistic for the situation - you wouldn't just lightly nip when you're fighting for your life.
Small art critique: in the scene with him in the truck, his hand position looks really uncomfortable/unnatural. I know hands are really hard, I'm certainly not the best at drawing them in complicated poses either. Just thought I'd mention it as something to think about changing in the final product.
Ultimately, this was really tense and well-written horror, and I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

The second thing is that you cannot be responsible for the desires and actions of other people. Each of us has our own duties, our own rights and our own responsibility. Therefore, blaming the victim is immoral bullshit: if you go right, Daniel will come, if you go left, Daniel will come, if you fucking stand still, he will come. And the third thing is that no matter how you try to behave (whether you will always be perfect, submissive or wild, intriguing) you will not be able to change another person. Are you lying or telling the truth? YOU GO TO THE DEVIL BOTH TIME, DUDE. Each of these aspects flows into each other, but these are really the thoughts that came to me during the playthrough. i've been seeing screenshots of the game on pinterest...then the damn curiosity drowned me. i downloaded, played, thought:"ah this is one of those edgy games with a dark story...." and got completely disgusted. i love it! i apparently hate myself but this game did bring horror and disgust on a way that is not glorifying it...like in many medias out there. this is a tragic story but it's a good scary story for a short game. it gives what it promised. i really thougt it would have boring descriptions of the violence with like... those forced "cute" scary character that is dumb.
based on the toyhouse infos: i like how he's conservative, i hate conservatives but we need more characters like him... complete insane men with terrible opinions, a character that is not JUST the creator's opinion and world's view. THIS is a good example of villain omfg 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Please let me know if it's only me but the game doesn't progress after the branding scene in which mc says 'please' until he looks over. The menu still works and everything but the game refuses to move forward, it just freezes in that scene. I've opened and closed the game several times and re-downloaded it as well and it keeps stopping at that specific scene. Pls help! :((

Made an account on itch just to comment, my ex-boyfriend made me watch him play this game yesterday, I started crying pretty soon into watching him play probably right at the part where her limbs were all stumps. He kept playing anyway, and kept looking over at me with weird ass expressions, watching my reactions is what I’ve concluded he was doing.
I didn’t just walk away because I was fawning… something I tend to do around people I love even if they are not being the best people, Not soon AT ALL after finishing the game, he brought up sexual role play, so I IMMEDIATELY knew what he was on about. It was so obvious and so freaky-so I laughed it off while literally wiping tears from my face, but he was starting to pressure me a lot “just for fun to try”
(we’d NEVER even done ANYTHING sexual together prior besides kisses on the cheek and forehead really, and he knew I was really really sensitive about that kind of thing because of something that happened to me when I was younger, and he knows as well from me crying at the game that I don’t like mutilation and torture and gore and sexual abuse or whatever. It freaks me out BAD)
So, when he kept bringing it up as it got later and later, I figured out in the end he was interested in doing really terrible, terrible things to me—or pretending to, for example things that happened in the game; he also admitted it. so… this game helped me to find out that he was not such a great guy after all (no kink shaming…but he was saying the most disgusting, DISGUSTING! and horrible things to me later on even after I was like begging him to stop, and telling him I was uncomfortable with it, it was late so I didn’t want to drive home either and I could never yell at him.)
When I decided to talk to him about it last night, he was suddenly uninterested in being my boyfriend for any longer. Thankyou ❤️
(Also the game was really fucking well made because it really did its job that’s what I can say about it… I’m not even usually such a scaredy cat, but…here we are ❤️🩹
